Genmaicha is one of Japan's most beloved and approachable teas — a humble, comforting blend with a history as rich as its aroma. Its origins stretch far back into Japanese history, traditionally made by combining green tea leaves with grilled rice. This version from Camellia Sinensis is a step up from the everyday style.

Where standard genmaicha uses bancha leaves, this higher-grade version uses sencha instead, and is further enhanced with matcha powder for a lively, herbal, caffeinated burst — a pleasant contrast to the warm aromas of the toasted rice. The result is a cup that feels simultaneously grounding and energizing: the toasty, nutty warmth of the rice balanced against the bright grassiness of the sencha and the deeper vegetal intensity of the matcha.

How to Brew

For a hot cup: Steep 1 tsp of tea in 8fl oz of 75 degree water. Let steep 3-4 min.
