Wage: $19/hour + staff discount on farm products
Hours: 35 hours per week (schedule to be determined with candidate)

Start Date: May 5, 2026 *later start date may be possible

Located an hour north-east of Toronto, Foggy River Farm is an ecologically minded medicinal and culinary herb farm committed to restoring the connection between people and the ecosystems they inhabit. We grow and wildcraft a diversity of herbs and turn them into loose-leaf herbal teas, culinary blends, and botanical skincare products.

We are looking for the right people to join our farming crew this season.

We’re seeking individuals who are interested in working outdoors in small-scale agriculture and who are ready to embrace both the rigours of the farming lifestyle and the repetition that often comes with farm tasks.

During your time with us you will gain experience:

Learning about herbs
Learning about the amazing medicinal and culinary herbs that grow in the Ontario climate—how to identify them, how they’re grown, and how they’re used.

Field & garden work
Prepping garden beds (amending soil, shaping beds, mulching)
Planting herbs, perennial greens, and trees
Weeding, watering, and caring for plants through the season

Harvesting & processing
Harvesting and wildcrafting herbs using ecological practices
Processing (garbling), drying, sorting, and preparing herbs for products

Product packing
Packing and labeling herbal teas and other farm-made products

Farm property & infrastructure (as needed)
Helping maintain the farm property, which may include:

  • Permaculture earthworks
  • Light woodworking and small repairs
  • Forestry and trail work
  • Landscaping projects

Eligibility & Who We’re Looking For

We seek an individual who:

  • Is honest, hard-working, and reliable
Is able to follow direction well and work efficiently both with others and independently
  • Is physically fit (able to lift 30 lb crates and complete repetitive tasks on hands and knees)
  • Is comfortable working outdoors in summer conditions and, at times, challenging weather
  • Is self-reliant for transportation to and from the farm
  • Likes to have fun, appreciates a good joke, and wants to soak up the beautiful sights, sounds, and scents that are abundant in farm life!

This position is contingent upon funding from Canada Summer Jobs.
Applicants must:

  • Be under the age of 30 at the start of employment
  • Be legally entitled to work in Ontario and have a valid Social Insurance Number

Prior manual labour, gardening, farming, or construction experience is an asset, but not required to apply.
